Kick It In the Park: Free World Cup Watch Parties in LA
What is “Kick It In the Park”?
Kick It In the Park is a City of Los Angeles community celebration program bringing World Cup match screenings to local Recreation & Parks sites across L.A. The events are designed to be free, family-friendly, and accessible, featuring large outdoor LED screens plus community programming and resources.
If you’re part of the soccer community — players, families, coaches, supporters, and neighborhood orgs — this is an easy way to watch matches together and meet other local fans without the cost barrier of tickets.
If watching the World Cup has you itching to get back on the field and play high-level recreational soccer, sign up for tryouts as ACP Futbol is gearing up for our summer season.
Key dates + how it works

What to expect at each celebration
While every park activation may feel a little different, Kick It In the Park events consistently include:
1) Live match screenings
Matches are broadcast in real-time on large mobile LED screens so you can catch every moment with the neighborhood.
2) PlayLA soccer clinics (youth)
Select sites will include free PlayLA mini-clinics and skill activities for kids.
Learn more about PlayLA here: LA Recreation & Parks — PlayLA
3) Family fun + community programming
Look for interactive activities, arts/culture elements, local vendors (varies by site), and park-based community programming.
4) City services + community resources
Resource tables connect residents with City departments, community orgs, and local services — a nice bonus for families looking for programs beyond match day.
Volunteer opportunities (great for soccer clubs + community orgs)
Want to support a watch party, meet neighbors, and help the soccer community show up strong? The City is recruiting volunteers for select sites.

How this helps the LA Futbol community
At ACP, we’re always looking for ways to grow the soccer community beyond the pitch. Kick It In the Park is a practical, citywide way to:
Watch major matches together without price barriers
Bring new people into the game (especially families + new fans)
Plug into youth programming (PlayLA) and local community resources
Create low-lift meetups around match days across different neighborhoods
If you’re an ACP member (or thinking about joining), these events are a perfect chance to bring a friend, rep your club gear, and connect with other Angelenos who love the sport.
