ACP Ghosts Win 40+ B Division Championship in LA Municipal Futbol League

Ghosts Win LA Muni League 40+ B Championship

ACP Ghosts brought home the 40+ B Division title in the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation & Parks Municipal Futbol League.

The season started with a statement: an 8–0 win over Pacific FC, followed by a 4–1 win over Atletico SL Old Boys. The attack came out flying, including back-to-back hat tricks to open the campaign and early goals from across the group.

Then came the reset.

Match day three brought a 6–1 loss to LA Knights — a rival with history against Ghosts going back to the previous season. It was the kind of result that forces a team to look at itself honestly. The response mattered more than the setback.

The road back

Ghosts answered with a 5–0 win over Dynamo Sputnik, then a 3–1 win over the Devils. From there, the team kept building momentum.

The regular season still had one more chapter with LA Knights: a 1–1 draw that left unfinished business on the table. Ghosts finished second, beat Atletico SL Old Boys in the playoff round, and earned the final everyone wanted — Ghosts vs. LA Knights.

The final

The championship match had everything a rivalry final should have.

Ghosts opened the scoring with a sharp header, LA Knights came back, and the game kept swinging. By halftime, it was 2–2. In the second half, Ghosts found the winning goal, took the 3–2 lead, and then had to protect it.

The final moment belonged to the keeper.

After missing time late in the season through injury, Patrick came back for the final and made a crucial save at the end of the match to keep Ghosts ahead and avoid penalty shootouts.

No penalties. No collapse. Just a team finishing the job.

What made this season special

This was 40+ soccer, which means every match is a balance of experience, fitness, availability, and managing bodies through a long season. Ghosts had strong numbers almost every week, often showing up with 18–20 players ready to contribute.

That depth mattered. Players competed hard, stayed focused, and kept coming back together even when games got tense. The group had enough quality to score, enough structure to stay organized, and enough belief to close out the final when the pressure was highest.

Shoutout to the squad

This championship belongs to everyone who played minutes, covered for teammates, stayed ready, and kept the group moving in the same direction.

The goals mattered. The organization mattered. The saves mattered. The bench mattered. The chemistry mattered.

That’s how a team wins a league.

Moving up

Next season, Ghosts move from the B Division into the A Division. The challenge gets tougher from here, with more experienced teams and players who know how to manage games.

One matchup to watch: Silver Lagos, a team that includes former ACP players Apo, Alvaro, and Luis. That should bring some extra energy — competitive on the field, respectful after the whistle.

That’s the beauty of this game. You battle for 90 minutes, then you remember everyone is here for the same reason. Fun but fierce competition! 💪
